How to integrate awork with Sally AI
Connect Sally AI with awork to turn what came out of a meeting into real work, right in the matching project and task list. With the Sally awork integration you create tasks, add comments, update statuses and log time in one click, so nothing gets typed twice and your projects stay current.
Quick navigation
1. How do I connect awork with Sally AI?
Follow these steps to set up the Sally awork integration.
- Open Settings at the bottom of the left sidebar.
- Under Configuration, go to Integrations and click Discover integrations.
- Pick the Project management category on the left, then select awork. The search bar at the top takes you straight there as well.
- The panel on the right tells you what the integration transfers. Click Connect in the bottom right, then sign in with your awork account and pick the workspace you want to connect to Sally.
The integration is set up only for the selected workspace. If you work with multiple workspaces, make sure to choose the correct one here. Otherwise, the connection will not be available in other workspaces.
- Once you have signed in, awork is connected. The Actions tab shows what Sally offers through this integration and lets you switch off individual actions for the organization account. Helper functions stay locked while an active action needs them, which is why some toggles cannot be moved. Disconnect in the top right ends the connection again.
Whether an integration may be connected at all is up to owners and admins, see managing integrations for your users.
2. How do I send meeting insights to awork?
Once awork is connected, a few clicks are enough to move content from a recording into awork.
The route is always the same: open the recording you need and click the Integrations icon. It sits at the top of every section and on every single line. Below it you find the four awork actions.
You can:
- Create a task in awork
- Add a comment in awork
- Change a task status in awork
- Create a time entry in awork
- Create task for a new task, optionally with an assignee, a task list, and a due date.
- Add comment for extra context on a task that already exists, without creating new items.
- Change task status for the progress of a task that already exists.
- Create time entry to log time spent straight from the meeting context.
2.1. Create a task in awork
- Choose Create task in Awork in the Integrations menu.
- Pick the Project. Along with Name, it is the only mandatory field.
- Add Assigned to, Task list, and Due date if you need them. All three are optional.
- Check Name and Description. Both come prefilled from the summary, and the description can be formatted in the editor.
- Click Create task.
- The task then sits in the task list you picked in awork.
Add as much context as you can, so project, assignee, task list, and due date. The fuller the task, the fewer questions come back and the better awork reports on it.
2.2. Add a comment in awork
- Choose Add comment in Awork in the Integrations menu.
- Pick the Project and the Task. Both are mandatory.
- Check the comment and click Add a comment.
- The comment shows up in the Activity section of the task.
Use comments to keep existing tasks up to date with meeting outcomes, without creating duplicate work items.
2.3. Change a task status in awork
- Choose Change task status in Awork in the Integrations menu.
- Pick the Project, the Task, and the new Status. All three are mandatory.
- Click Change the status.
- awork applies the status right away. In the example the task is set to done, so it drops out of the list of open tasks.
Use status updates to close out tasks that were resolved during the meeting, right from the summary.
2.4. Create a time entry in awork
- Choose Create time entry in Awork in the Integrations menu.
- Pick the Project, enter the Minutes, and check the Start time. Those three are mandatory, and the start time comes prefilled.
- Optionally pick a Task, use the Billable toggle to decide whether the time is billed, and add a Note.
- Click Create time entry.
- The time entry then sits on the task in awork.
Log time entries immediately after the meeting while context is still fresh, and toggle Billable to keep your project billing accurate.
